ERIKSEN WILL PLAY FOR REVENGE

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen has revealed that his Tottenham team will be going into the Sunday’s trip to Anfield looking to get revenge on Liverpool after the team suffered a humiliating defeat at White Hart Lane earlier in the campaign. Back then, Tottenham suffered a 5-0 defeat in front of their home supporters in what has proven to be one of the several high profile defeats they have suffered this campaign. Eriksen was one of the big-money signings in the summer who came at the expense of Gareth Bale.

He has been one of the best players amongst the lot and manager Tim Sherwood certainly missed him for several weeks when he was out injured. This has consequently seen Tottenham suffered one of the worst since in form this campaign. They have dropped out of contention for the top four places, which was originally the target this campaign. However, they can salvage some pride for this season with a win against title chasing Liverpool, who have failed to win just two out of the 16 home matches this season.

Eriksen failed to talk about the prospect of finishing in the top four, as he said that the club was taking every match by itself.

“Everybody here wants to prove we’re not that bad. We have some big losses against the bigger clubs. We know if we want to go any further or any closer to the top, we have to win. It’s still a big gap [to the top four]. Of course, we will be realistic. At this point, just look one game at a time. The whole League is so close right now. Everybody wants a nice cold revenge. That’s certainly a distinctive response,” said Eriksen.

Tottenham are in danger of being overtaken by Manchester United in the table.
