Denmark national team manager Morten Olsen has stated that he is not a big fan of Chelsea boss José Mourinho. The Portuguese has come under intense criticism in the last few weeks for the defensive style of football that he has been employing against top teams like Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. Despite being a manager of top club himself, this has not been seen as a great tactic by Mourinho. He has won league titles in four different countries and has also lifted the Champions League with two different teams. However, Olsen has criticised his tactics.

The 64-year-old has even sensationally claimed that Mourinho is going to the extent of killing football. He says that people will stop turning up for games if the Chelsea boss persists with this attitude. According to him, there is a danger of other clubs also trying to replicate the style of football since it seems to get results away from home. Chelsea managed a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon followed by a spectacular 2-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

The club’s imperious home record of not having lost under José Mourinho, though, came to an end during the weekend against Sunderland after a 2-1 defeat.

“In my world Mourinho is a danger for football. If many try to copy his style, then the game will die. Imagine if everybody played football like Mourinho. Then it would certainly be boring, and then I wouldn’t watch the matches. I could play so differently with Chelsea, if I got the chance. But Mourinho is only able to play defensively. The club has spent so much money on so good players. Hell, use them then,” said the Denmark coach, whose team will be hoping to surprise the odds by starting the European championship qualification campaign in brilliant fashion.
