The Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested that the Danish defender Daniel Agger could be fit for the match against Norwich city during the weekend. Daniel Agger was recently stretchered off in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. This was a match that certainly did not go according to plan for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool. Despite taking the lead in the match on a very emotional day, Manchester United managed to win the match after scoring two goals following the goal from Steven Gerrard. Even more worrying was the fact that Daniel Agger had to be stretchered off in the match.
It appeared like the injury was extremely serious and that Daniel Agger could miss the next few weeks of the campaign. However, the defender has made a miraculous recovery in their efforts to stop the Liverpool season from collapsing further. It has already been a very difficult new season for the club after they have secured just two points from their opening five matches. Fabio Borini is also likely to be fit for the match according to the manager. The former Roma striker has not been at his best in the opening few matches, but Brendan Rodgers this is hoping that he will hit his top form against Norwich.
“Daniel probably has a good chance and Fabio is 50-50. They haven’t trained this week but we’ll see how they go over the next 24 hours. They are responding well. He’s been fantastic for me since I’ve come in, so it’s really unfortunate that he’s got the injury. If he does [play again this season], it will certainly be towards the end of the season,” said Brendan Rodgers ahead of the match with Norwich during the weekend. Martin Kelly has been ruled out for the next six months due to the anterior cruciate ligament injury.
