Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen claims that the blues need to be extremely clever and be ready for a fight when they take on Tottenham during the weekend.
The London rivals will be meeting each other at the Wembley stadium, which has been the source of several miseries for Tottenham. However, Spurs will be playing at this ground for the foreseeable future until the ground work on their new stadium completes. Chelsea come into the match after having suffered a 3-2 defeat against Burnley in the opening match of the season. It was a surprise result that further complicated the negativity surrounding the club.
The blues have sold plenty of players in the summer transfer window and the lack of high quality players led to the manager fielding inexperienced players in the first game of the season against Burnley. Even though the blues came up with an impressive fight back to almost snatching a point with a numerical disadvantage, it was a need to result at the start of the season which could complicate things going forward.
Chelsea are in great need of three points coming into the game, but manager Conte will have to come up with a tactics that will overcome the absence of Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas due to suspensions.
Denmark’s Christensenis regarded as a player with great future, and he is expected to start the game in the absence of Cahill. “On the pitch you don’t really think about it [Cahill’s red card]. You just get on with it and keep battling back, like we did in the second half.I think everyone knows what happened. We have to pick ourselves up and look forward to the next game.We could have taken something from this match. When we got the first goal, the belief grew and you could feel it in the stadium as well,” said Christensen.
